Welcome to PAHPM!
Physician Assistants in Hospice and Palliative Medicine (PAPHM) is a new, non-profit organization affiliated with the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Members practice in clinical, research, and education settings. The purpose of this organization is to educate PAs on the fields of Palliative and Hospice medicine, grow these areas of medicine through the use of PAs, and advocate for PA rights in Hospice care. This site is dedicated to PAs practicing Hospice and Palliative Medicine and those who want to know more about this field.

Join us Monday, May 27th at 2pm at the Renaissance Hotel in Meeting Room 5 for our annual CO meeting. We are looking for new leaders and more people interested in helping this small, but growing organization!
PAHPM Presents at IMPACT 2013
Four PAHPM members will be speaking at the AAPA Annual Conference in Washington, DC May 25-29.
Harvey Nix, PA-C and Holly Pilewski, PA-C will be presenting "Integrating a Physician Assistant in Palliative Care" on Sunday, May 26 at 2pm.
Donna Seton, MA, PA-C will be presenting "Palliative Care in the Intensive Care Unit" on Sunday, May 26 at 3pm.
Kathy Kemle, MS, PA-C, DFAAPA will be presenting "I Feel A Lot Better Since I Ran Out of Those Medications: Better Prescribing for Your Older Adult Patient" on Wednesday, May 29 at 4pm.

Joining PAHPM gives you the opportunity to join physician assistant leaders in Hospice and Palliative Medicine in defining and expanding the role of PAs in these fields. This is a ground level group made up of visionary PAs who strive to grow the field of Palliative Medicine.
Multiple skill sets are needed for advancement of this new constituency organization enabling you to use your knowledge in such fields as technology, management, education/teaching, mentoring, and policy/adovcacy.
